 Enhanced CRB check.

PostSubject: Enhanced CRB check.   Thu Aug 26, 2010 1:06 pm

Right lads, i have just been told i was successful in applying and gaining an internal vacancy in my work place ...

But i have got to go through an enhanced CRB check before i can take up the postion because i will have contact, daily with vulnerable people, i have actually had 2 CRB's done on me and they were fine, no come backs (was nicked and cautioned as a kid, once) CRB check's passed.

Looking into the 'enhanced CRB check' i am slightly concerned, as i was involved with some really naughty people for a few years, doing some naughty things in my past, never arrested but definitely on the police radar, suspected of doing some very naughty things. Now i have lifted the paragrath below off the official CRB website and i am quite worried that certain things may show up on my enhanced CRB check (got to go to HR tomorrow to fill forms in pale ) ...


Enhanced Disclosures: These are for posts involving greater contact with children or vulnerable adults such as a social worker or doctor. Such work might involve regularly caring for, training, supervising or being in sole charge of such people. They will also be issued for other positions, such as those seeking judicial appointments and certain statutory licensing purposes .In addition to the checks carried out for a Standard Disclosure, all Enhanced Disclosures involve an extra level of checking with local police force records. This information can be contained on the both copies of the Disclosure. However, it is up to the Chief Constable of the police force to decide what, if any, information is disclosed. The CRB gives as an example; information contained on details of a child protection case conference. Chief Constables can decide that some information is relevant to the position but do not wish the prospective employee to see this information. The CRB also gives as an example; details of suspected criminal activity where an arrest has not taken place but is anticipated. In such instances, it will be indicated on the top of the Disclosure that further information is being sent by the emplooyer.

I agree slasher, i turned my life around years ago and was involved in some volutary work with young homeless kids for 12 months or so before i took my current job, two years ago, no come backs then either. With this new postion i have been offered, i have already worked there and done the job 20-30 time over the last 12 months, covering for sickness and holidays and was never asked about an 'enhanced CRB check' ... but am now sweating big time incase something comes back off the police!!

It will depend on what you were suspected of doing mate. I can understand you not wanting to say what it was on open forum but if you want to PM me I might be able to cast some light on it for you.

I work in a school as a secretary so I have had a couple of CRB checks. I always thought that if you had never been convicted of anything then nothing else would show up. If there is a good gap between being naughty and now than perhaps you will have nothing to worry about. Fingers crossed!

Everything on your record will show up on an enhanced, even as a juvenile. It will show any cautions etc. I'm saying fuck all else to you on the subject as you could be another Huntly for all I know, no offence, even though you appear sound to me on the internet.
