Personally, I think Torres would be better off going to Man City.

Chelsea's main players Terry, Lampard, Dropba, Anelka are all over 30 years old, so their increasingly injury prone team will be due a major overhaul in the very near future...

The uncanny parallels with 1987 spring to my mind as Ian Rush left us for Juve for £3.2 million and we strenghthened the team with Houghton (£800K), Beardsley (£1.9m), Barnes (£900K) & Aldridge (£750K), and went on to play the best football I've seen from a Liverpool team.

Torres's £60-70 million transfer fee could then be spent on deepening the quality in the squad and this would allow us to really compete next season for the title and trophies.

Kenny Dalglish was manager then, so he won't be phased by this. I'm sure he'll buy quality players to upgrade the squad, if and when Torres leaves the club...

So we've been here before, who's to say history won't repeat itself...

I think Aqualini is better off at Juve

Quite honestly if he wants to go, then there is no sense in keeping him.

However, the chavs should be told to go fuck themselves. I'd rather he went to Man City, let them pay their daft transfer fees and rebuild the team from there.

The club just need to stump up some money and point out to Nando that to us he is a hero, we love him and always will, look at Jocky, Kenny, Rafa etc and how they still live here and will be heros for life but at Chelsea you will just be another one of their players for a short period of time, no soul in it. He'll stay then, full of soul is Nando

The sad fact is we hardly saw them play together. Liverpool have rejected Fernando's transfer request.

All good things come to an end.

Chelsea, City, no way. Let him go play in spain, Italy or fucking france.

But I keep saying, not until the summer.

The noises coming from the Red Corner seem to be saying all the right things. Transfer requested rejected. Torres reminded of his contract and commitment to the fans. The Chavs told he is not for sale.

Don't want the lad to leave and hopefully he can be convinced to stay and will see the light. But if his heart is set on leaving, then only on our terms that suit us.

The opening post puts this in some context.
