Dont you think we could qualify for the CL this season?!

heart says yes, head says no.

it would require one of scum, arse, chelski and man city to self destruct ( man city possibly could), but then spurs also should not be in a position to take advantage.

besides, the unthinkable could happen.. one of chelski or spurs win the CL , finish 5th and still qualify, if we finish 4th.

Having looked at the fixture lists mate, Citeh could quite easily self-destruct. And Spurs have to play us, Citeh and Arsenal all away, We've got Arsenal at the Emirates (which we should already pencil in as a 1-1) and Citeh at home. These fixtures could all still go our way. It is unlikely, but highly possible.

Mentioned in another thread we've got a 2 point average under Kenny after yesterday,

Kenny, 20 points from 10 games (compared to Hodgson's pitiful 20 points in 20 games)

Here's our run in:

Saturday, 2 April 2011
Barclays Premier League
West Brom v Liverpool, 15:00

Monday, 11 April 2011
Barclays Premier League
Liverpool v Man City, 20:00

Sunday, 17 April 2011
Barclays Premier League
Arsenal v Liverpool, 16:00

Saturday, 23 April 2011
Barclays Premier League
Liverpool v Birmingham, 15:00

Sunday, 1 May 2011
Barclays Premier League
Liverpool v Newcastle, 12:00

Saturday, 7 May 2011
Barclays Premier League
Fulham v Liverpool, 15:00

Sunday, 15 May 2011
Barclays Premier League
Liverpool v Tottenham, 15:00

Sunday, 22 May 2011
Barclays Premier League
Aston Villa v Liverpool, 16:00

With Spurs inevitable European Hangovers to come, and City looking worse with every passing game, is it too much to think that we could grab 5th spot, or dare I say it, even 4th?

City have not won away from home once this year - and come to Anfield in 3 weeks time. We also have a home game against Spurs, having 2 Six-pointers like this AT HOME could make it really interesting.....

Or should we not get our hopes up and realise this is just a case of too little, too late?

need to change our attitude for arsenal away, instead of sitting back and letting them take the piss we need to attack and expose their dodgy defence.

I think our efforts and tactics against the bigger teams this season actually has been pretty good.

vs Chelski 2 wins home and away = 6 points
vs Scum 1 win, 1 loss = 3 points
vs Arsenal a draw = 1 point

against arsenal, i think with caroll up front and suarez sniffing around we can do them at theirs..
yeah we lost 'away' at citeh and rottenham, but it's not like we won't or can't beat them at anfield. I actually think we'll turn both over , the only problem is that we're running out of games.

If we keep on winning, then we have every chance of putting some real pressure on City and Spurs. One game at a time is how we should take it, and see where we are at the end of the season.

At the moment, Arsenal are doing their best to self destruct. I mean seriously, they are making a mockery of the words "title challengers". If they want to pressure Manure for the title, then fucking act like it! Seriously a team of "also rans".
At least WE showed some guts in the run in 2 years ago........! SO I say we go there and win! Boss that back 4 of shit with Carrol and Suarez!

As for the others.........

Citeh..and Spuds..........will be tough games for us, but 6 points from those two.....Cat among the Pigeons!

I honestly think we'll beat a City side without an away win in 2011. Spurs could most likely be out of Europe when we play them but they could drop more points in the meantime either side of the Real Madrid games.

I'm starting to think we could make a late push lads. Sorry to jinx it but I do.

Only reason I said pencil in as 1-1 mate is that has been the score for 3 or 4 of the last times we've played there? Razz

Ok anyone want to do a prediction on the Spurs and Man City results?

Saturday, 2 April 2011
West Brom v Liverpool - 3 points and a new arsehole for Hodgson

Monday, 11 April 2011
Liverpool v Man City - 3 points. City in freefall

Sunday, 17 April 2011
Arsenal v Liverpool - 1 point, based on TSP's acute observation Smile

Saturday, 23 April 2011
Liverpool v Birmingham - 3 points. Can't think of anything else

Sunday, 1 May 2011
Liverpool v Newcastle - 3 points. Carroll to break flabby naked hearts and revenge for earlier this season

Saturday, 7 May 2011
Fulham v Liverpool - Another 3 points

Sunday, 15 May 2011
Liverpool v Tottenham - if we are to have any chance, this MUST be 3 points

Sunday, 22 May 2011
Aston Villa v Liverpool - Ged to roll over for us (as long as they're not fighting relegation), 3 points.

Yes I know - that's 7 wins and 1 draw from 9 games but looking at them individually, is it really too much to expect us to beat Birmingham, Newcastle, Spurs and Man City at home? The away games are also all winnable games.

Based on this I have us at 67 points - enough for Champions League Footie?

Bungle will be So revved up for this game....!
Spuds will want to do us as we pretty much always beat them at seasons end....!
Newcastle, fuck, that will be some game!
Brummies....always bastards and will have players back that are out now.....

Lot's of tough games ahead me thinks..but love your optimism!

With a striker who is a threat from set peices and one who is a little magician I think we have a good chance.
